Health Risks:
Pets: Pets exposed to contaminated food can be infected without showing symptoms. Infected pets, even if asymptomatic, can act as carriers and transfer Listeria monocytogenes to people through their feces and saliva.
Humans: People can be exposed to this pathogen through multiple routes such as contact with the food and surfaces that have touched contaminated food, such as bowls, utensils, or countertops. Infected humans may display symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, fever, and lethargy. Severe infections can result in meningitis, abortion, and death. Pregnant women are especially susceptible to Listeria infection, which can result in miscarriage. The young, the elderly, and people with weak immune systems are also vulnerable to infection. Contact your healthcare provider if you develop any of these symptoms after handling the recalled product or caring for an exposed pet.
Actions:
Stop Use: Immediately stop feeding the recalled products to any animals. Do not sell, donate, or consume them.
Disposal: Dispose of recalled products in a secure manner so they cannot be accessed by people or animals. Thoroughly wash and sanitize all pet food bowls, utensils, countertops, and any surfaces that may have come into contact with the food. Always wash your hands after handling the product or your pet.
Production Pause: Raaw Energy is temporarily stopping all production of dog food effective May 21, 2026, so the company can carefully evaluate current issues, address them properly, and take appropriate corrective actions.
