Health Risks:
Pets:
- Salmonella: Lethargy, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite
- Listeria: Diarrhea, anorexia, fever, respiratory and neurological symptoms; potentially fatal
Humans:
- Risk from handling contaminated food, especially for children, elderly, pregnant individuals, or immunocompromised people
- Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting, fever, muscle aches, diarrhea; in severe cases, neurological issues
Actions to Take:
- Stop Use: Discontinue feeding affected lots immediately
- Disposal: Destroy safely; keep away from children, pets, and wildlife. Sanitize all pet food surfaces and storage containers
