Recall Overview:
Products: Elite Treats Chicken Chips for Dogs (dog treat snacks)
Issue: Possible contamination with Salmonella bacteria.
Affected Lots:
- 6-ounce black and gold bags marked with Lot 24045
- Expiration Date: April 2027
Distribution: Treats were sold to Florida Hardware, LLC and distributed to feed stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
Health Risks:
Pets:
Eating Salmonella-contaminated treats can cause lethargy, diarrhea (sometimes bloody), fever, vomiting, decreased appetite, and abdominal pain in dogs. Infected pets may also carry and shed bacteria without showing symptoms.
Humans:
People can become sick through handling the contaminated treats, contact with pets that ate them, or contact with surfaces that touched the treats. Symptoms in humans include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever, and more severe complications are possible. Vulnerable groups (young children, elderly, immunocompromised) are especially at risk.

Stop Use:
Immediately discontinue feeding the recalled treats to pets. Do not sell or donate them.
Disposal:
Dispose of the product in a secure manner so that children, pets, and wildlife cannot access it. Thoroughly wash and sanitize pet food bowls, storage containers, utensils, and any surfaces that may have contacted the treats. Always wash hands after handling the product.
