• BellePepper Cats — Freeze-Dried Chicken Heart Slices (3 oz); also sample treats (unpackaged / unlabeled).
• Kanu Pets — Freeze-Dried Chicken Heart Raw Treats (3 oz). -
Issue: Potential Salmonella contamination detected via FDA sampling.

Distribution: Products shipped from Wisconsin to retailers in Wisconsin, New York, Florida (7 packages total)
Health Risks:

Pets: May experience lethargy, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, vomiting, fever, decreased appetite, abdominal pain. Pets may also become asymptomatic carriers and shed Salmonella.

Humans: Handling contaminated treats can lead to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramps, fever. In rare cases, more serious complications (arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis) may occur.

Stop Use: Immediately cease feeding any products matching the recalled brands and lot numbers.

Disposal: Do not sell or donate the products. Dispose of them so that pets, wildlife, or people cannot access them. Wash and sanitize all pet food bowls, cups, storage containers, and any surfaces or utensils that contacted the product.
